about

My recent work has acted as a tool for untangling the complex emotional experience of grief. Through a gradual layering process of addition and subtraction which sculpturally draws the image from the surface, I’ve come to recognize time as a player in my painting. A painting is a thing which witnesses me as an artist, a griever, and as a person. It collects my marks, dust, and time. For me, painting is always about remembering, lamenting, and lasting.
